Project Title: Disease Transmission on Aircraft
Anticipated Outcome: Development of appropriate policy, regulations and guidelines to maximize safety and health in the cabin in response to threats of infectious disease.
Project Summary: This research is developing advanced scientific models and experimental data of airborne and surface transmission of existing and emerging infectious diseases within aircraft. The research team is also evaluating the effectiveness of applying standard ground-based infection control techniques to aircraft and comparing such practices with advanced procedures under development. The output of this research will enable evidence-based development of appropriate policy, regulations and guidelines to maximize safety and health in the cabin in response to infectious disease.
